Bathing Boxes

The name giver for this site are the colourful beach huts that line Brighton Beach, one of Melbourne’s most recognised beaches. The Bathing Boxes date back to 1860s and they were built so ladies could change into their swimwear in privacy. They have become part of the Australian beach culture and can not only be found on Brighton Beach but also on many other beaches around beautiful Port Phillip Bay.
